Year 6 | Word Classes

In English, Year 6 have been looking at different word classes.

Verb- an action word (run)

Adverb – describes the verb (quickly)

Noun – person, place or thing (table)

Adjective – describes the noun (fluffy)

We have also been looking at different punctuation marks, including apostrophes, colons, semicolons, ellipsis and inverted commas.

Once students were more confident, we moved on to challenging ourselves in a quiz. Students had a question pop up on the smartboard and were given just 10 seconds to work out the answer. We will be revisiting the quiz to try and increase our marks each week.
