Trinity Academy Newcastle Board

Message from the Chair of the Board of Trustees

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend a warm welcome to Trinity Academy Newcastle Trust.

We are an Academy Trust dedicated to providing specialised support for young people with diagnosed mental health, behavioural, and emotional issues across our range of specialist academy schools in Newcastle and Sunderland.

At Trinity Academy Newcastle Multi Academy Trust, we take pride in being recognised as a Trauma Informed Trust by Trauma Informed Schools UK. This formal recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to creating nurturing, emotionally supportive environments across all our provisions, with each setting acknowledged as a trauma-informed environment. Grounded in our core values, we strive to develop competent, confident, and kind citizens of the future through a trauma-informed approach, helping every child and young person feel safe, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.

We are dedicated to supporting the ambitions and hopes of all our learners, working diligently to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes and are well-prepared for their future lives. In our post-16 provision, we offer a variety of courses, including construction skills, land-based studies, hair and beauty, and motor vehicle maintenance and more, to provide alternative pathways for our young people.

We are at the forefront of the latest educational strategies on mental health support. Our academies are supported by skilled, dedicated staff to assist our young people through some of the most challenging periods in their lives and preparing them for their next steps.

We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest behavioural standards in our academies. While we understand the challenging nature of some of our learners, we are committed to ensuring that all our learners and staff feel safe at all times. Consequently, any instances of poor behaviour will not be tolerated and will be addressed fairly but firmly.

Our facilities are first-class, and our learning provision is based on small class sizes to help our learners develop to their fullest potential.

Michael McHugh
