KS2 SATs Prep

Our Year 6 learners are rising to the challenge as they gear up for the Key Stage 2 (KS2) SATs. To ensure everyone feels confident and prepared, the classroom has transformed into a hub of focused learning and daily practice.

Daily Drills and Digital Learning

Consistency is the secret to success in Year 6. Every day, learners log on to use interactive tools to tackle SATs-ready questions. These bite-sized digital sessions help pupils sharpen their mental arithmetic and recall key grammar facts in a fun, engaging way.

The "Challenge" Finish

Maths and English lessons don't just end when the timer goes off. At the close of each session, learners face challenge questions based on actual past SATs papers. Whether it’s a multi-step reasoning problem in Maths or a tricky grammar identification task in English, these high-level questions encourage pupils to apply their knowledge to the most demanding parts of the curriculum.

Friday Assessment Days

Fridays have become our dedicated "Check-In" days. To build stamina and track progress, learners complete three key assessments:

  • Maths Test: Covering arithmetic and reasoning.
  • Reading Paper: Focusing on comprehension and vocabulary.
  • SPaG Test: A deep dive into Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar.

These regular sessions, help learners get used to the format of the real exams while allowing teachers to provide instant feedback.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work and resilience shown by our Year 6 cohort. Keep it up, everyone!
