Science with Lindisfarne | Changes in Materials
This term in Science, Lindisfarne are looking at properties and changes in materials.
We started off by looking at the properties of materials and using different adjectives to describe their properties. We then looked at insulators and conductors. We now know that insulators keep heat or electricity in, whereas conductors let heat/ electricity through.
Following this, we looked at different materials to see whether these would dissolve in water and if they did, which dissolved quicker.
We had to keep a number of variables the same to make it a fair test.
The variables that we kept the same are:
- Containers
- Amount of liquid
- Type of water
- Amount of material
- Temperature of the water
- Amount of stirs
Going forward, we will put our results into a bar chart and will write a conclusion using scientific vocabulary.
