Shopping For a Brighter Future
Every young person needs good career guidance to help them make informed choices and decisions about their future. It is a necessity for social mobility. Year 8 learners at the Lower Site were given an exciting and privileged opportunity to attend an event in Eldon Square where they explored careers in retail.
Hexham learners interviewed shop managers and the main boss responsible for the whole of Eldon Square. They engaged brilliantly with the speakers, asked thoughtful questions, and gained knowledge on over 100 jobs within the industry. This brilliant event, excitedly held in offices typically closed to the public, has inspired some of our Year 8s to consider a future in retail. With their confidence, resilience and enthusiasm, we are certain they won’t be on the market for long!
